One Piece Style

It’s rare that I find a jumpsuit that fits me. You may have heard me mention in prior posts that I have a shorter torso, so they are usually too long in the middle. I was still on the fence about this one until this belt pulled it all together. It could still use a little tailoring, but once I cinched it and pulled on some heels, I was a fan.

I’m continuing to explore more patterns and print and loved the geometric design. I also don’t have much in red so this represented something different for my closet. Bonus, it feels like you have on pajamas! Super comfy and breezy. Get into the details below and follow my new Liketoknow page on their free app to easily shop all my looks! Once you set up an account, you can either like my pics on Instagram or screenshot them to receive shoppable links to all the pieces!

Here’s hoping your week gets off to a great start!!!

Side Note: I’m still reconciling the Game of Thrones ending in my head, but luckily, I recently started watching Ozark (which is very entertaining), so I have something to keep me distracted. What should be next on my watch list?

Major Keys – Part II

So after the road trip stops, the rest of our time was spent in Key West where we stayed in this cute little Cuba themed hotel. In addition to pool yoga (which we loved!) it offered countless spots for cute photos. Of course we took advantage and had a photo shoot all over Havana Cabana!

I was excited to find a one piece that actually fit and a cover up that covered some stuff up. I’m really on the hunt for more one pieces to complement this more curvaceous body I have these days? Where do y’all find your swimsuits?

Get into the details below of this look below! Currently getting ready to spend some time with the fam for Mother’s Day! Hope you get to spend some time with your loved ones and keeping those of you who are missing loved ones during this Holiday in my thoughts and prayers.

Major Keys – Part I

So for my friend’s birthday, we decided to take a trip down to the Florida Keys. It was the first time for all of us so we made a road trip out of it to be able to make a few stops. We met 2 of our friends in Fort Myers and hit the road from there. Our designated coordinator did a great job of planning out these stops. From restaurants, to a key lime pie factory, to tarpon feeding, we got to take in a lot along the way.

For the road trip, I wanted to be cute but comfy. This cropped tank was light and breathable, and I loved the vibrant colors. When I wear any cropped top, I need something high waisted to balance it out. I’m not trying to show a lot of skin plus booties with a higher waist give you a slimmer look, drawing attention to the waist. These girlfriend jeans were comfy, but, I must admit, a little warm the further south we got, even with all of the fashionable ventilation. The hat that really pulled it all together was borrowed from my friend. Came in really clutch as the humidity started attacking my hair. All together it created a super cute and fun look. But… may be worth switching out the jeans for some shorts if you end up in south Florida. 😊

Falling In Love With Santorini – Part II

So the photo shoot continued, and this time, I switched it up to a two piece set. Nikos was kind enough to let me use his car as a changing room. Not a great setup to keep the wrinkles out, but it worked nonetheless. These photos were the finished result! He took us to two more locations, we got a private tour of a beautiful church by its owner and took in more breathtaking views. He even had me try to do the slow model walk on top of this building which created the third from the last pic. 😊 Santorini, I will be back.

Until then, get the deets on my second shoot look below! If you are on the fence about making your way over to Greece, go now!

Falling in Love with Santorini – Part I

Hey Stylish ladies! Checking back in from a little hiatus while celebrating my bday and traveling!

A couple weeks ago I had my first trip to Europe, spending a little time in Paris and several days in Greece. The timing also worked out perfectly as a birthday trip. I got the opportunity to visit Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini…. y’all, Santorini stole my heart. It’s just so breathtakingly beautiful. From the charm of Oia to the views from the Caldera.

My friends and I got a pro tip before we left from a friend who had traveled there before. She let us know one of her biggest regrets was not getting a professional photographer while she was there. Not only are the backdrops worthy of professional grade photos, the local photographers also know the best places to get these shots. Cue these pics. Our photographer, Nikos, definitely did not disappoint! He was extremely accommodating and very professional and also gave us some history of the island during the process. I mean look at these! Our eye would have missed half of these shots. He also was patient with awkward models, providing a ton of guidance, and taking a lot of shots, and helping us move our shoes from place to place. Lol Definitely recommend doing this if you decide to visit.

How do you find a local photographer overseas?! TripAdvisor will be your best friend. Nikos had an abundance of rave reviews, and booking, payment, and photo receipt was all done easily electronically. A boat tour and winery trip are also a must while here… and the food…. loved it so much I’m actually considering ordering a Greek-style cookbook lol. Stay tuned for part two because you know I had to get two outfits in while I had this photographer. 🙂

Zipper Details

You guessed it – coming at ya with another casual comfy look cause I just had to get another quick look in with these sneakers!  I promise, I’ll take a break after this.  This time I brought back the mixed fabric joggers I previously styled here and added in a cropped sweat shirt from Gabrielle Union’s sporty collection with NY & Company.  I was sold once I saw the zipper detail which gave the option to expose a little shoulder.  You know I’m always a sucker for some shoulder action.  This minor detail really elevated this piece.   A really cute ensemble and perfect travel gear.  Get all the details below and thanks for joining me on this journey into the world of sporty fashion!

Red Pants and Jean Jackets

I had to take a break for a minute, as life once again got crazy, but I’m back!!!  Plus my birthday is quickly approaching and I can’t wait to share my plans…. but that’s a story for another day.

What better way to come back than with this athleisure obsession that doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon.  It’s not often that I pick up red pants, but these quickly caught my eye.  High-waisted for a little more flattering fit and made from a super comfy material.  Be warned that they run a little large, but I didn’t want to risk sizing down and potentially having shrinkage after the first wash. They have a matching jacket, but for this look, I decided to layer on this  oversized jean jacket that I’m also still obsessed with.  I also ventured outside of my comfort zone with this crop top from Olivia Culpo’s collection with Express.  Paired with something so high=waisted, it seemed like a safe choice, plus I told myself I could use this as a little motivation for my workout plan (let’s see how well that goes).  Most importantly, I finally took the first step in stepping up my sneaker game up, investing in these red Huaraches, and I love them (even though my teenage nephew was quick to tell me that they were old news).  You may see them more than you like on this blog 🙂

Nah, I Know My Value

So when my friend came up with a tshirt line, I had to put my order in.  She’s a career coach, specializing in negotiating and ending the gender wage gap, so what better message to put on a shirt.  There’s no better negotiating tool than knowing your worth. The shirt is also super soft and is perfect for dressing up or down.

For this look, I decided to go cute casual, pairing it with faux leather joggers and my oversized jean jacket.  I love this joggers because they are only part faux leather and part cotton, making them more breathable and comfy than normal.  For an extra touch I added black pumps to finish it off.  Details on the look below.  This would look equally as cool with a great pair of sneakers, and now that I’ve finally gotten some new ones, I can’t wait to pair these joggers with them. Stay tuned. 🙂  Up next, I’m excited to share some pictures from my first trip to wine country.  I already can’t wait to go back.

Valentine’s Day Edition – Part II

Posting this a little later than I planned, but it can still provide some inspo for those waiting to go out to celebrate this weekend.  For my second look, I still wanted to have a hint of shoulder on display, but this time paired with a hint of thigh.  🙂 An oversized off the shoulder sweater dress was perfect to pull this off. This one was a random find while browsing Missguided, but I’m really glad I found it.  It’s such a versatile piece. It can stand alone as a flirty piece, be paired with denim for a more casual feel, or be layered under a wrap coat for a more sophisticated chic look.  Here I decided to do all 3!  Finished it off with these super sexy over the knee boots from Steve Madden.  Fair warning, they are pretty tight around the calves, and I don’t consider myself to have big calves.  Hoping they stretch with some wear.

This dress is perfect when you’re not in the mood for something that hugs the curves and gives you a ton of extra space for that food baby you’re bound to have after a Vday dinner.  If you want a little more shape, layer on your fave belt! I wore this belted to a concert already, and it was super cute.  Bottom line, you can pretty much do whatever you want with this piece, so I’m excited to see how else I can switch it up.  Now let me get to this packing! Vday is my mom’s bday, and I’m heading down to celebrate! Always appreciate the quality time.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a love-filled weekend!

Valentine’s Day Edition – Part 1

So in my latest poll asking for content recommendations, one of the asks was for more “what to wear” type content. So over my next couple of posts, I put together a few looks to get you some inspo for Vday for those of you celebrating the day with you boo or getting together for a Galentines night.

I created this look all around this faux leather skirt from Express.  It’s a really good and soft quality for a faux and was a unique piece to add to my closet. Nice for the office and also for the happy hour afterwards.  In this instance, I paired it with a flirty off the shoulder sweater.  This sweater is a story in and of itself, but let’s just say it took a couple of youtube videos to figure out how to get it on.  The weather didn’t want to cooperate this day, but just know the sun was the missing accessory that really sets these shoulders off. 🙂  Finished the look off with the always killer So Kate Louboutins.  You just cannot beat the stilletto on this shoe.

Although I love a skin bearing, curve hugging look, I wanted to go a more flirty romantic direction with these looks.  Bare shoulders, a hint of thigh, such a fun way to skew sexy.  Get all the details on this look below and be sure to check in soon for vday part II.  Wishing you all a happy and productive week!
