Major Keys – Part I

So for my friend’s birthday, we decided to take a trip down to the Florida Keys. It was the first time for all of us so we made a road trip out of it to be able to make a few stops. We met 2 of our friends in Fort Myers and hit the road from there. Our designated coordinator did a great job of planning out these stops. From restaurants, to a key lime pie factory, to tarpon feeding, we got to take in a lot along the way.

For the road trip, I wanted to be cute but comfy. This cropped tank was light and breathable, and I loved the vibrant colors. When I wear any cropped top, I need something high waisted to balance it out. I’m not trying to show a lot of skin plus booties with a higher waist give you a slimmer look, drawing attention to the waist. These girlfriend jeans were comfy, but, I must admit, a little warm the further south we got, even with all of the fashionable ventilation. The hat that really pulled it all together was borrowed from my friend. Came in really clutch as the humidity started attacking my hair. All together it created a super cute and fun look. But… may be worth switching out the jeans for some shorts if you end up in south Florida. 😊

Get all deets below! Happy road tripping and cheers to more girls trips!

Kimonos and Distressed Jeans

A nice kimono can really make an outfit. I’ve been hoarding this one in my closet for a while now.   It’s from the Eva Mendes collection at New York and Company.  It definitely skews sleepwear, so styling can be tricky… but when I decided to rock my hair curly and picked up some new boyfriend jeans, it felt like the perfect opportunity to bring it out.

I got these distressed boyfriend jeans during a recent sale at Express (half off!).  They are different than most other boyfriend jeans in my closet because they have a high waist.  For those of you like me who often have “food babies” these can come in real handy.  It’s not often you find boyfriend jeans that are slimming.  For a little added drama, I pulled out these caged Vince Camuto heels.  Although they look a little complicated, they’re some of the most comfortable heels I own.  They’re a few seasons old so I linked a similar option for you guys.  Get into all the details below and Happy Monday Eve!

90s Vibes

Sometimes you just need to be able to grab some comfy pieces and go.  Sweatshirts and ripped denim are perfect for those moments.  This sweatshirt gave me major 90s vibes.  I don’t know if it’s cause it looked like old school Pepsi memorabilia (although I can’t stand Pepsi) or the color block style, but when I put it on I had a serious urge to sing “whoomp there it is.”

These distressed boyfriend jeans are super comfortable and add interest to the most basic looks.  Check out how I styled them in a previous post here.  I completed the look with grey sneakers and was ready for a super casual day.  Get all the details and shop the look at the links below! And smile, it’s Friday ya’ll!

Nautical

Was feeling a little patriotic I guess, and decided to put this little red, white, and blue number together.  This over-sized jacket is perfect for the in-between weather we’ve been experiencing lately.  It has just the right amount of coverage but is also breezy enough to not get you overheated.  I paired it with distressed boyfriend jeans, a white tank, and these furry Steve Madden heels.  My sister/photographer insisted they were best suited for prancing around in a bathroom with a silk robe on, but I think they worked just fine here too.  I love fun shoes, and these were no exception.

See here for how I styled this jacket previously.
