Straw Hats and Leopard Mules

Ok.  Let’s level set here.  Every now and then, I have a look where I think I may have gone too far.  Looking back at these photos, this may be one of those times.  At face level, this look wouldn’t sound overloaded, but let’s also keep in mind that I’ve always been an accessories minimalist.  Who knew someday I’d pile on a yellow crossbody, straw hat, AND leopard mules!  But hey, on this day I was really feelin spicy, so here you go.  My style is continually evolving with new inspirations everyday.  That’s part of the fun of fashion – it gives you the freedom to experiment, while still staying true to you.

Therefore, on this day I decided to add all of those accessories onto a simple white cami and black jeans base.  Based on today’s mood, I would definitely lose of the aforementioned pieces to balance out the look.  Maybe the shoes and bag sans hat.  It doesn’t take away the fact that all of these items are still super cute and all linked for you on my liketoknow.it page!

Check out the details below and shop the look here. Let’s see what looks my next mood brings! 🙂

Work It Out

Ok ya’ll, I’m back after a brief hiatus! As always, thanks for sticking with me. Life comes at you fast, but I have some exciting things in the works! 🙂

I’m always looking for athletic wear that keeps it cute in the gym and afterwards.  This little combo does just that and I picked it all up on a recent sale at Macy’s.  I’ve stepped my workout game up a little and as such had to go on the hunt for more workout gear to keep up.  Nike has always been one of my favorites but full price Nike makes my head hurt. lol  Macy’s and surprising, JC Penny, are the perfect solves for this.  I don’t have the latest and greatest and so they typically have the pieces as they are going out of season on sale.

This little duo was the cutest.  Love love love the print and colors of this top.  Plus the longer fit is perfect for those days where you’re not trying to show off the midsection and do your burpees in peace.  Although you may not be ale to tell in this photo, the leggings coordinate with the top, with subtle pink and blue lettering within the white stripe.  Together a sporty enough look to throw on when working out isn’t even on the agenda.  Get into the details and shop the look below!  The year is over half way gone ya’ll, time to get those goals in high gear! I swear I don’t know where July went. 🙂

Give Me Options

Another day, another, set! This one is a little different though, with super versatile pieces that leave you with infinite outfit options. Whether you’re going to the beach, a day party, or a baby shower, this has you covered.  It’s loose silhouette gives it an effortless appeal and the color is perfect for summer!

Pair with a simple top or bodysuit for a more casual look.  Top it off with the kimono for a classy two piece look.  Or wear the kimono by itself for a dressier occasion.  Styled here in all 3 ways complemented with a simple tan heel, my go to woven cross-body, and mirrored sunnies.  Currently imagining all the other style opportunities with this combo:  the pants paired with a blazer, the dress accessorized with different belts, the kimono over jeans… all the potential!  Shop the look on my liketoknow.it page all linked here!

Hip Hip Chambray!

I’m loving how denim-look chambray dresses have come back around.  My mom always loved a good jean dress back in her teacher days, and these have come back with a little modern flair.  Love the details on this that make it a little more flirty.  A good little thigh split and a tie in the back that you can make into a cute little bow add a little sexiness and femininity to the look.  Paired it with fun statement earrings, a bright cross-body bag and burnt orange heels to add some color to the look.  I can already envision this dress at brunches and cute and casual summer events!

Maxi + Pockets

Have you ever seen how excited a woman gets when she finds a dress or skirt with pockets?!  Showing them off to anyone she come across (Look! *puts hands in pockets*).  It really is the little things, and this dress is another reason to get excited.  It’s probably as comfortable as you’re going to get without actually wearing a bed sheet.  It’s made of billowy fabric perfect for ventilation (and avoiding sweat spots) in this crazy heat that began well before the official start of summer.  It also happens to have pockets.

Now this dress can be a little tricky for women on the curvier side. Unless you catch the right angles, you may end up looking like you’re expecting more than a hot girl summer (cue me at most of the angles), so know what look you’re going for.  Here, I let the dress be free, but I’ve also worn it belted to give it some shape and prove that I do indeed have a waist.  Topped the look off with a straw hat, this summer’s much needed accessory, and styled it with both flats and heels below depending on your mood.  Get into the details and shop the look on my LIKEtoKNOW.it page!  Now back to my regularly scheduled program – taking on this work week, working towards these goals (I need to get back into that planner I bought at the start of the year) and trying to plan some summer getaways in the middle.  Wishing you a productive week full of knocking out your goals!

Vacay Style – The Switch Up

Express front tie wrap top paired with distressed girlfriend jeans and Steve Madden Daisie navy blue pumps! Great summer day party or brunch look!

This is the follow up that was promised to my last post! Here, I wanted to switch it up to show the versatility of the this 2 piece set allows. Pairing it with distressed girlfriend jeans and a trendy straw woven bag (these are everywhere right now and I’m loving them!) created a more casual vibe. This is a look that could work on vacation but would be great on a typical Sunday Funday. Love the look both ways! Which one is more your style? See the previous look blogged here.

Vacay Style: Welcome to the Tropics

We’re now in peak vacation season, so I decided to start a series dedicated to some perfect summer getaway looks! This is my first Vacay Style post, but definitely stay tuned for more!

I love looks with a little flow when I’m traveling and especially when I’m headed to a tropical climate.  Breezy to keep you cool but also makes for cute wind blown photo ops :).  This little two piece set caught my eye immediately.  First of all, I love this print! Super fun but still stylish and in bold colors (I’m really getting into more color every year).  The cut is also flattering for multiple figures.  The skirt is high waisted which is naturally slimming, and it has a little elastic in the back for extra give.  The top allows you to wrap it to show as much or as little tummy as you’d like.  You’re also able to tie it in front and back.  I love a piece that gives me options!  The bonus here is that they can also be worn as separates and paired with new pieces for a completely different look (check out my next post for the switch up).

Get all the details below and shop the look all linked for you on my LiketoKnow.it page. Happy Tuesday! Sending you positive vibes for the rest of the week!

Hey Sunshine

Missguided yellow twist front kimono blouse paired with New York and Company distressed denim and Lulu’s triple strap nude heels.

So this look I’ve blogged before (like 2 years ago), but this is a testament to buying pieces that stand the test of time, and not just the season’s hottest trend.  This piece was both trendy and classic, one of my favorite combos.  What makes this top great is it’s versatility.  It’s the perfect mix of a blouse and a kimono, both of which are pretty timeless silhouettes.

On this occasion, I was taking my friend out to a birthday brunch and looking for something cute but flowy.  No one wants to be restricted at brunch, right? Waffles and mimosas require a good amount of space. Paired the top with some distressed denim and barely there heels. My fave accessory though was this hair! Loving curly hair for the summer so you’ll be seeing more of this. Get all the details below!

Mini Dress Dreams

For those of you who’ve been rocking with me for a while, you know I’m all for maxis and midis, but sometimes you got to pull out a good mini and show the folks some versatility.  Even in minis, I still like a balanced look.  So I liked that this shorter hem was offset by longer sleeves.  And incidentally, my figure made this more of a mini in the back then in the front. 😊 This was also on one of the not so “melty” weather days so the sleeves were doable and the fabric is a thinner one, better for the warm temps.

This dress also drew my eye because it was once again in one of my fave colors.  The blue tones are a nice complement to my skin. I also loved the print – giving me old school scarf vibes and adding a little extra sauce to the look. Strappy heals, mirrored sunglasses, and a red lip topped off the outfit. A perfect summer date night look! Get into it and shop the look below! Stay cute and hydrated in this weather my friends! 😊

Summer Essential Dress

Summer came fast, but summer weather came even faster here in Georgia.  When the temps hit the 90s, a lightweight and breathable dress is a wardrobe essential.  That’s why I’ve already scooped this one in 2 colors.  This dress has all the versatility.  It looks great with heels, sandals, sneakers, oxfords, you name it! Can’t wait to switch it up. The straps are also adjustable and I just love the button detail.

Now my only issue is finding something cool enough to wear on the rest of these summer days.  Do you know it’s already gotten close to 100 degrees here?! It’s. Only. May.  I’m gonna need to be near a pool or the beach just to make it. What do you ladies wear to keep cool and cute in the summertime?
