New Year, New Dress, Same Me

Happy New Year ya’ll! I can’t believe 2019 is already upon us.  I must admit, I wasn’t ready.  So many expectations to have your life together, your soul renewed, all your goals set, vision board prepped, affirmations written… all before the clock strikes twelve.  I admit, I was playing into the hype once again and stressing myself out.  Then I stepped back and realized that while I’m truly thankful for seeing the start of a brand new year, 1/1 is just another day, just like the day before.  Every day is another opportunity to get it right and be a little better.  For that reason, I was able to take a moment for myself and start thinking through some of these things, but not rush them.  I’m working on consistency and discipline and I really want to make sure the goals I set for myself going forward are very thoughtful, actionable and have timelines.  I can be such a procrastinator and that really has to improve. I’ve also invested in a few tools to break these down into monthly milestones as well.  I’ll let you guys know how they work out and plan to share some of my progress here along the way!

Now enough about that… let’s get into this fashion! This dress.  I had to have it.  Eva Mendes really did her thing with this one.  Its logo print gives the feel of a high end designer piece without being overwhelming.  Blue is also one of my favorite colors, and I love how they mixed a few shades here with a pop of red.  Unfortunately, with all of New York and Company’s (amazing) holiday sales, it’s sold out, but I’ve linked an alternative for you guys. (Sidenote, they are currently running a buy 1 get 3 free sale (what?!) on a lot of their items, you heard it here).

To complement the dress, the first shoes that came to mind were these navy Steve Madden Daisies.  I officially have these in 4 colors, and I am not ashamed.  They have one of the sexiest silhouettes I’ve seen in a non high-end designer shoe, and if you watch them on Macy’s, you can often catch them for less than 50 bucks!  Because it was cold and I love a good coat, I layered on this classic camel one I picked up a few years ago from Asos.  Again I say, invest in classic pieces, they will take you far my friends.  Get into all the details and shop similar pieces below! And cheers to all of us who are still working to get it together in the new year! 🙂 #workinprogress
