Holiday Edition- Part II

So now you’re past the office holiday parties and you’re ready to settle into visits with the family.  You want to be comfy, but you also want to be cute.  Something to distract those nosy aunts from asking when you’re getting married, plus you have to always come a little better than that one cousin. You know the one.  🙂

Get into this look.  High-waisted jeans, a chunky sweater, cute but comfy heels, and a classic pea coat.  Now let’s break this down.  A high-waisted jean is almost universally flattering, slimming you at the waist and helping hold you in after you went back for that second slice of pecan pie.  I’m totally obsessed with chunky sweaters this cold weather season too.  I don’t know if it’s because I’ve added on a little fall/winter pudge or they’re just so comfy, but we are besties now.  This one adds a little interest as it features bell sleeves (a detail that I unfortunately forgot to shoot).  These heels are one of my fave Zara throwbacks.  Part loafer, part heel, a little casual, and a little sexy.  Plus they are oh so comfortable.

Now on to this pea coat.  Get yourself a classic pea coat and you almost instantly have a stylish outfit.  Throw on some jeans, some slacks, a dress, it all works with it.  The thing about classic pieces is… they never go out of style.  The best time to get these is actually after the holidays, as retailers almost start giving these away to make room for their spring inventory.  I got this one on clearance last year from Express cause you know your girl loves a good deal.

That’s all I have for today.  Need to finished getting all packed up to head home and spend some time with the ones that matter the most.  I hope you’re able to do the same! Spread some love this holiday season – it’s the gift that keeps on giving!
