Mermaid Flare

My style is not super trendy or over the top, so I use simple touches like an interesting silhouette to give my outfits the added flair I want.  This mermaid style maxi skirt was just what I needed.  I picked it up from an online store called, Shoxie, in two colors.  That store is no longer in business, but its owner, Style Pantry, started FKSP that offers similar styles.  The skirt is perfect because you can dress it up with a silky cami and nice accessories or keep it a little more casual with a denim button down or sweatshirt.

I opted for the more casual version – adding some oval gold hoops, tan wristlet and brown heels.  I felt a little va va voomy in this skirt… which brought on more attention than this introvert liked.  I’m making an effort to get a more creative with the blog shoot locations.  This is a real challenge for a girl that doesn’t like being the center of attention or getting stares from strangers.  It’s kind of hard to be discreet standing outside an ice cream shop with a photographer, trying to find your angles.  We’ll see how this thing goes… but in the meantime – wish me luck!
