We Out

Whether you love or hate the concept of Black history month, I enjoy the heightened awareness and knowledge that is shared during this time.  What better way to bring in black history month than with a little fashion with a message? 🙂

I love mixing casual pieces like graphic tees with dressier staples, and this look came together in my mind so naturally.  I’ve had this sparkly pencil skirt for a while now and it was the perfect complement to this timely tee (in full transparency, I was also happy that I could still fit it). This also presented the perfect opportunity to bring out this tuxedo jacket from the Tracee Ellis Ross for JCP collection.  Tracee has long been one of my fashion idols and I adore her ability to be so free with her spirit and personality.  Her fashion choices often skew towards those that highlight the classic female silhouette.  For such an affordable piece, I was surprised at how this jacket did just that with nice tailoring in the waist creating a slimmer look.  Sexy So Kates finished off the look.  Get all the details and links to shop below.

What do you think? Do you like mixing non-typical pieces?  Thanks for stopping by lovelies!
