Office Style : Casual Friday

With the cooler temps finally approaching us, I thought it necessary to bring out the big guns – read as “this blazer.”  This is one of my favorite blazers because it’s perfectly structured, yet made of a soft material and in one of my favorite colors for fall.  I’ve worn this look before, but never put together a whole post on it, so figured this was a great opportunity to highlight it.  I also wanted to present an alternative, for those with an even more casual office or a person looking to take their look from the office to a more casual setting.

For my first look, I paired this grey wrap top with dark wash denim, this superstar plum blazer, and coordinating heels I picked up from Zara a few seasons back.  For me, this is perfect for the office because while the look is trendy and a little more casual, I still feel put together.  I never take a “casual” Friday as an opportunity to totally slum it (leave the tees for the weekend).   I want people to be able to tell the difference between when I’m going apple picking and when I’m going to work.  It’s always important to make sure you’re putting your best foot (or outfit) forward, cause you only get that one shot to make a first impression and you never know who you’ll meet.

I did want to provide an alternative, however, for those of you who want to take an even more casual approach and aren’t looking to don the heels.  For the second look, I used the same base, but lost the jacket and added interesting dark blue and brown oxfords. I struggle finding flats that I like sometimes, but I did well picking these up from DSW on clearance a few seasons ago.

Which look is more your vibe?  Get into the details below!
